ABOUT US
"Carlo Ubertini" Higher Education Institute was born in 1867 when the first agricultural course with experimental estate was established in Caluso. In 1890 it became the "Royal practical school of agriculture for the province of Turin." At that time the Institute occupied part of the former convent of the Franciscan Friars Minor, south of the town, and was granted a flat, irrigated agricultural area near the convent and a large vineyard on the hillside. Over time the institute has seen the management of a winery, a machine workshop, orchards, poplar groves, stables, beehives, silkworm breeding, and greenhouses. Currently, the factory farm is involved in open-field and greenhouse horticulture and viticulture.
In 1999 the Caluso location was added to the Chivasso location, which had already been operating for two years in catering, with large kitchens, dining room-bar, and reception.
Since 2014, they have also organized hotel courses at the Caluso location.
At the Caluso location, there is also a boarding school, currently with daytime activities only, with study, sports, and recreational activities in extracurricular hours.
The institute consists of Caluso Headquarters and the Chivasso location.
